Cook, whose career in law enforcement began in 1992, worked with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Atlantic Beach Police Department before successfully campaigning to become Clay County’s next sheriff.
She briefly spoke at the event on Thursday, saying to the president that the only place safer than Washington, D.C. will be Clay County, Florida.
In a post to social media, Cook called the opportunity “once in a lifetime.”
“Incredibly Grateful!!!!” she said.
