The North Florida HIDTA has recently established a new Crime Gun Intelligence program through funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), which allowed for two new Crime Gun Intelligence Officers (CGIOs) to join our team. Through a partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), our team will be working to prevent and reduce gun violence and other violent crime associated with drug trafficking. Our initiatives are required to provide seized firearm information which is provided to our CGIOs for the purpose of developing intelligence leads and strategic analysis.
